Once, a girl was frustrated by her acne-prone face. She complained to me, “I want to peel the skin off my face! With so much acne, I can’t find a boyfriend!”

I said, “Acne has to appear somewhere. Would you prefer the acne to show up on your heart instead of your face?”

“If there was acne on my heart, would it still function?”

If they thought about it, people would know that compared to having acne on the heart with the possible danger of death, acne on the face is bearable.

If regarded from a certain point of view, something could be troublesome; however, if we leave that fixed point of view behind, we would see the same thing is also a good thing.

Everything has yin and yang, two opposites, within it. All advantages have their corresponding weaknesses, and all ugliness has a beautiful side. When we rely on our physical sensations to analyze or judge something, we often make fundamental mistakes. Only when we reduce, eliminate, and even deny the feelings and sensations can we return to the true reality in which everything is rooted.
